Our à la carte menu offers a variety of fish, meat, and vegetarian dishes, all suited to the season. The wine list is compiled after a careful selection of many wines, aiming to present the broadest possible view of the current wine world. Unique is that more than 70 wines can be ordered by the glass. Our team is happy to advise you on suitable and surprising wines!

Part of the review: “A charming host, Thom van der Heide, warmly welcomes us, and in the kitchen, chef Mark van Noord is preparing for an evening of culinary delight with Frisian local products as the starting point. During the aperitif, a Chilean sparkling wine based on Chardonnay and pomegranate juice, we are treated to amuse-bouches such as arancini in a Frisian clog and Borger potato mousse with bergamot jelly and crisp sugar bread. We taste halibut cooked in lime butter with celeriac, lobster mayonnaise, and crispy glass noodles. The main course is perfectly cooked beef sirloin from Katlijk with green and white asparagus. The cheese board consists of regional and French varieties, and we are impressed by the homemade sugared nut mix that comes with it, as well as the roasted sugar bread and apple compote.”

Interior of our culinary bistro: Marijke Muoi Wine & Dine The interior of our culinary bistro is warm, contemporary, homely, and cozy. Shades of green and blue refer to Marijke Muoi (blue for royal) and green for the landscape of Oranjewoud. Eye catchers include the impressive bar, the unique wine bar, the wall paintings, and our Gastronomic table. Gastronomic table; a night out with friends or family The Gastronomic table is perfectly suited for a night out. The table is slightly higher than standard and is suitable for a maximum of 16 people. The Gastronomic table is located in a beautiful spot in our culinary bistro. You sit slightly private with your group but still have a good view of the bar, among other things. The name of our culinary Bistro: Marijke Muoi Wine & Dine The name comes from: Maria Louise Van Hessen – Kassel.

She is one of the stadtholder women who founded and maintained the Oranjewoud estate. Maria Louise was very loved by the population. She was seen as the people’s aunt and was therefore given the nickname Marijke Muoike (Muoike is Frisian for aunt). She often walked through the streets of Leeuwarden (her place of residence) and threw sweets to the cheering street children. Opening Hours & Accessibility Marijke Muoi Wine & Dine is open from Monday to Saturday from 5:30 PM and on Sundays from 12:00 PM. Enjoy on Sundays a served 2- or 3-course lunch menu, high tea, or high wine. Or come and enjoy drinks with one of our snack platters and homemade cocktails. On Sunday evenings, you can also dine à la carte just like on the other evenings. From a hygienic point of view, we have decided not to allow dogs in our culinary bistro Marijke Muoi Wine & Dine.
